Sharad Pawar takes over as ICC Chief

Bally Chohan Dubai (UAE) says that Sharad Pawar, former chief of Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has formally taken over as president of International Cricket Council (ICC).  Sharad Pawar is the president of Nationalist Congress Party. Nationalist Congress Party is the collation partner in the UPA government.  Nationalist Congress Party is also sharing power with Indian National Congress Party in the western state of Maharashtra.

Bally Chohan Dubai (UAE) says that Sharad Pawar has become the second Indian to occupy the top post of International Cricket Council. Jagmohan Dalmiya was the first person from India to be appointed as the president of International Cricket Council and now Sharad Pawar has occupied this prestigious post.  Jagmohan Dalmiya was given charge of International Cricket Council President in the year 1997. Sharad Pawar was give charge during the annual conference of International Cricket Council at Singapore.

Sharad Pawar is also holding prestigious post of Agriculture Minister in the Union Cabinet of India. Sharad Pawar will be succeeding David Morgan from England. David Morgan has completed his two year terms.

Bally Chohan Dubai (UAE) is of the view that Sharad Pawar has taken over the post of President of International Cricket Council at a very crucial time. During his tenure India, Sri Lanka & Bangladesh will be holding World Cup 2011.
