Bally Chohan preview of India v/s Australia One Day International

 Bally Chohan is eagerly waiting for the second one day international match between Australia and India. This is second match of the series. The first match was abandoned without even a ball is bowled because of heavy rains. ADA-VDCA Cricket Stadium has always been a happy hunting ground for team India. The team India is in an upbeat mood after defeating Australia 2-0 in the recently concluded test match series.  On the other hand Australia will also be looking to revenge the humiliating 0-2 defeat against India.

Team Australia has won every One Day International series played in India since the year 1998. Australians are without the services of some of their star players including Captain Ricky Ponting.   Now the pressure will definitely be on acting captain Michael Clark. Clark’s dismal performance in the recently concluded test series  

Both the teams are without the services of their star players. The team India will be missing in actions its Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag, Gautam Gambhir, Zaheer Abbas, Harbhajan Singh and Pragyan Ojha whereas the team Australia will be without the services of their regular Captain Ricky Ponting, opener Shane Watson and pacer Mitchell Johnson.

This has always been lucky ground for team India. Mahendra Singh Dhoni and team have won the two earlier matches played here. Indian Captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni also played one of his best knock here when he scored 123-ball 148 against Pakistan in his fifth one day international.  The wicket at Vizag is truly an Indian wicket and runs come in plenty here.

The weather here in the port city of Andhra Pradesh is mostly sunny. The people of Vizag will witness an international match after gap of almost four years. The current One Day Series is seen by cricket experts as clash of upcoming talent in both the teams.  This will be the last time both teams will meet before next world cup early next year to be played in India.

This one day series will be a chance of stylish Punjab batsman Yuvraj Singh to prove his mettle. He has been in and out of team India in recent past. He was also dropped for the Asia Cup and test match series against Australia.  Muril Vijay and Shikhar Dhawan are most likely to open innings for team India in the absence of regular openers Virender Sehwag and Gautam Gambhir.

Bally Chohan Cricket – New Zealand crush India by 200 runs

Bally Chohan says that India faced one of its most humiliating defeats yesterday in the hands of New Zealand. New Zealand crushed India by 200 runs in the first match of the tri-series. Daryl Tuffey veteran paceman of New Zealand took three wickets in his opening spell helping New Zealand to a comfortable 200 runs victory over much fancied Indian team. Daryl Tuffey, 32 years old fast bowler from New Zealand finished with a career best tally of 3-34 in eight overs. Indian team was bowled out for their lowest ever total against New Zealand while chasing a challenging 288 run target. The much fancied Indian batting line up could not even bat through the 50 overs.

Bally Chohan says that this was New Zealand’s biggest one day victory over India in terms of run-margin. Prior to this the biggest one-day defeat of India in the New Zealand was at Dunedin in 1990 when New Zealand defeated India by 108 runs. The other and the third team in the tournament is Sri Lanka. Each of them will play each other twice before the top two teams qualify for the final on August 28th.

Bally Chohan says that the New Zealand team owed their today’s victory mainly to Ross Taylor who made a brilliant 95 and all rounder Scott Styris who made 80. Their record 190 runs partnership for fourth wicket helped New Zealand to set a challenging total of 288 runs. Indian team was never in control while replying to the 288 runs target set by New Zealand and virtually lost the match in the first 12 overs of their innings. Indian team was reduced to 4 wickets down for 50 runs at the end of 12 overs. Tuffey took three wickets and Kyle Mills one.

Tuffey was also involved in a brilliant run out of Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni. Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni could make only two runs before being run out by a brilliant throw from Daryl Tuffey.  With the departure of Dhoni the team India was five down for 53 runs in 14 overs.

The only batsmen to reach double figures from team India side were Ravindra Jadeja (20 runs), Virender Sehwag (19 runs) and Dinesh Karthik (14 runs). This India’s one of the worst batting performance in recent times.  From New Zealand side their fast bowlers did the damage. Besides Tuffey fast bowler Mills and Jacob Oram bagged two wickets each and reduced India to a total of 88 runs all out.

Indian team was only in control of the match for first few overs when the New Zealand team was reduced to 3 down for 28 runs. New Zealand won the toss and elected to bat first.  The fourth wicket partnership of 190 runs between Ross Taylor and Scot Styris was the best from New Zealand for fourth wicket in one-day internationals. The previous best from New Zealand side was 168 runs between Lee Germon and Chris Harris against Australia in the World Cup quarter finals at Chennai in 1996.

Ross Taylor, New Zealand’s captain in the absence of Daniel Vittori was out short of his fourth one-day hundred. Ross Taylor was trapped leg before by left arm seamer Ashish Nehra. Ashish Nehra was the most successful bowler from team India with a figure of 4-47. Ross Taylor, the New Zealand captain hit one six and eight fours in his match winning knock of 96 runs in 113 balls.

Bally Chohan Cricket – First Match of Tri Series Today

Bally Chohan Dubai, UAE says that the first match of the tri-series featuring India, Sri Lanka and New Zealand will be played today at Dambulla, Sri Lanka.  New Zealand has come up with a relatively fresh and new team whereas India will be missing some of its key players. Moreover Indian team will be exhausted after a drawn test series.  Sri Lanka is another team featuring in tri-series. India Sri Lanka had an engrossing Test series, resulting in 1-1 draw.

Bally Chohan Dubai (UAE) says that Indian team will be without the services of Little Master Sachin Tendulkar and ace spearhead Harbhajan Singh. Both of these players are rested. The Indian team will also be missing Gautam Gambhir, rested from the series because of an injury.  Other key Indian players to miss series opener will be pace spearhead Zaheer Khan along with Ishant Sharma because shoulder and ankle injury respectively.

Bally Chohan Dubai (UAE) says that in the absence of Zaheer Khan and Ishant Sharma Ashish Nehra will take over responsibility of leading attack along with Praveen Kumar. The Indian team had not so impressive pace attack in the recently concluded test series against Sri Lanka. However inclusion of Ashish Nehra is expected to add some zing to the pace department of Indian team.

Bally Chohan Dubai UAE feels that this will be a chance for off-colour dashing batsman Yuvraj Singh to regain his lost form. Yuvraj Singh flopped in the first test match of series and was rested for second test match because of flu. Yuvraj Singh was subsequently dropped from Indian test team for third test once his replacement for second test Suresh Raina played brilliantly and scored century on his debut test.

Dinesh Karthik is all set to open the Indian innings with Virender Sehwag. Dinesh Karthik played brilliantly in recently concluded Asia Cup. Dinesh Karthik was flown in as replacement for injured Gautam Gambhir in the recently concluded Asia Cup.

These players can be destructive on a given day however the problem is the inconsistent form of these players.  Their unpredictability can however cost the team dearly. These players lack in experience and have often let the team down in their effort to make a mark.

On the other hand New Zealand team will be without the services of their inspirational captain Daniel Vettori. Daniel Vettori will be missing the series so that he can be with his wife who is expected to give birth to their second child. Along with Daniel Vettori the other key players missing tri-series will be Jesse Ryder and Brendon McCullum.  Jesse Ryder is recovering from an injury while Brendon McCullum has been rested by New Zealand board in order to enable him to spend some time with his family.

On the other hand New Zealand final eleven will be selected from Ross Taylor (captain), Kyle Mills, Grant Elliott, Martin Guptil, Gareth Hopkins, Nathan McCullum, Andy McKay, Jacob Oram, Jeetan Patel, Peter Ingram, Tim Southee, Scot Styris, B J Watling, Daryl Tuffey, K Williamson
