Bally Chohan FIFA Update – Spain enter Finals

Bally Chohan Dubai (UAE) says that Netherland has become the first team to enter finals of FIFA World Cup 2010. Netherland defeated Uruguay by 3 goals to 2 yesterday to make way to the finals of FIFA World Cup 2010 being played at South Africa. Netherland has to wait for almost thirty two years to make it to the finals of the FIFA World Cup. The finals this time around will be an all-European clash since the other team to fight for the prestigious title will be from Germany and Spain.

Bally Chohan Dubai UAE says that Sneijder, who was instrumental in Netherland’s 2-1 quarterfinals victory over Brazil scored the decisive 2nd goal today to take Netherland one goal ahead of Uruguay.   Just three minutes later Arjen Robben scored third goal to seal victory for Dutch team.  This is Netherland’s third world cup final where they will take on the winner of game between Germany and Spain. This was way back in 1970 that Uruguay last reached semifinals of FIFA World Cup.

Both teams were playing on 1-1 score at the half time. This was Fernando Muslera, Uruguay goalkeeper who handed an early chance to Dutch team when he failed to hold cross ball from Robben from Netherland.   Uruguay came back strongly and leveled score just four minutes before the scheduled half time.

After the half time, Dutch team played more aggressively and was able to keep ball more with them.

In the other semi finals, Germany will take on Spain at Durban on Wednesday. The winner will take on Netherland in the finals on Sunday to be played at Soccer City, Johannesburg.  

Bally Chohan Dubai (UAE) says that this will be first time that a European team will world cup outside their own continent. Teams from Europe have previously won the world cup nine times. However the Dutch team lost their previous final encounters in the year 1974 and 1978. The Dutch team lost to West Germany in 1974 and lost to Argentina in 1978.

Whosoever wins on Sunday this is for sure that a European team will win world cup and this will be for the 10th time for any European team to lift world cup, one more than any team from South America.

Bally Chohan FIFA World Cup Update- Quarter Finals to start today

Bally Chohan says that Uruguay and South Korea have surprised everyone by reaching knockout stage of the FIFA 2010 World Cup. However Bally Chohan feels that there is much more than just reaching knockout stage for South Korea and Uruguay. Both the teams stand an opportunity to reach quarterfinals of the world cup hence they will be giving their best to win and advance to the next round of FIFA World Cup 2010.

Between Uruguay and South Korea, Uruguay has won World cup twice. Last time Uruguay won the world cup in 1950. But after 1950 the Uruguay team hasn’t been lucky enough to win the world cup. After 1950 Uruguay team was able to reach quarter final stage just once, in 1970. On the other hand South Korea reached Semi Final stage in 2002, the year when they hosted world cup. However in the year 2006 the South Korean team failed to reach even quarter final stage.

Bally Chohan says that Uruguay team ended up as winner in Group A whereas South Korean finished runner up in Group B. The team winning today will take on the winner of United States and Ghana team.

Both Uruguay and South Korea will be fighting hard today to win the game. Uruguay team has not conceded even a single goal in their two games they won earlier.  South Korea team on the other hand reached final sixteen by drawing their match 2-2 with Nigeria. Bally Chohan feels that both Uruguay and South Korea plays attacking style game hence their encounter will be a super entertaining game.

The South Korean captain Park plays from Manchester United as their midfielder Lee Jung Soo has scored two goals.

Bally Chohan says that in another match today United States will take on Ghana.  Both the teams are somewhat underdogs of the tournament. Ghana has become the only African team to reach second round of the tournament. The United States team on the other hand was able to draw their two games against England and Slovenia and was able to defeat Algeria 1-0. The performance of the African teams in this world cup has been very much below expectation. Ghana is the only team from African continent to make it to the knock out stage of the tournament after losing 1-0 to Germany on Wednesday.

In the previous world cup i.e. in 2006 the Ghana team was able to make it to the knock out stage and then lost to Brazil 3-0 in the round of sixteen. However this time around they left their injured Chelsea star Michael Essien and entered the world cup with a relatively young team.  Bally Chohan feels that the coach of Ghana team Milovan Rajevac, Serb has done a remarkable job. He has converted Ghana team into a fantastic defensive unit. The Ghana team has conceded only two goals in last three games. Most of the team members in Ghana team have started playing from Ghana team less four years ago.

The United States team was able to reach quarter final stage during the 2002 world cup and is trying to repeat the same performance during this world cup also. Their performance this time around has created a plenty of buzz among their fans back home in United States.

Bally Chohan Sports Update – Brazil starts World Cup Campaign

Bally Chohan Dubai (UAE) says that his favorite team Brazil has reached Johannesburg, South Africa on its journey to win World Cup 2010. Brazil has earlier won the FIFA World Cup five times and this time are strong contenders to win the World Cup Sixth time.

Bally Chohan says that Brazil has always been considered to be the strong contender to win the World Cup whenever the World Cup takes place after four years. However this time around bookmakers all over the world have placed their money on Spain and Brazil is placed at number two spot. Brazil team was given a warm send off by their fans headed by their President Luiz Inacio De Silva.

As reported by Bally Chohan in his sports blog, the Australian soccer team was the first one to reach South Africa yesterday.  Brazilian soccer team with a total of twenty three team members was accorded a warm welcome on reaching Johannesburg, South Africa.  The team was taken to the team hotel in a brightly colored luxury coach. The five times world cup champions will be training at a nearby school.

Brazil team has been placed in the Group G. Other teams in the Group G along with Brazil are Portugal, Ivory Coast, and North Korea. The group G has been labeled as the Group of Death by some critics.

Brazil is expected to face fellow South American qualifier Chile in the second round of FIFA World cup. Second round of FIFA world cup is a knockout round.  Brazil is said to be accustomed to South African conditions. Brazil has won Confederation Cup tournament after beating United States of America in the finals.

Brazil is known to be passionate about football. This can be easily said that like India is passionate about cricket the people in Brazil are just mad for football.  Even the banks in Brazil will observe holday on June 15th when Brazil will take on North Korea and on all other days when they have match.

Bally Chohan says that the coach of Brazil football team Dunga is having the most stressful job in football. Dunga was appointed coach four years ago. Dunga replaced Parreira who was shown the door after the team’s exit from world cup.

South Africa is hosting FIFA World Cup for the first time and Bally Chohan wishes them all the luck.

Bally Chohan Sports Update – Salim Sulaiman to perform at FIFA World Cup

Bally Chohan says that famous bollywood music director duo of Salim Sulaiman will be composing and performing at the FIFA World Cup in South Africa. FIFA World Cup is slated to be held in South Africa from 11th June 2010.

Bally Chohan would like to congratulate bollywood music director duo Salim Suleiman on achieving a feat that no other Indian has been able to achieve so far. Salim Suleiman has already composed a sports theme based song for the super hit movie Chak De. People in India consider this particular song from Chak De as their unofficial sports anthem.

You can listen to this song from Chak De on almost all the TV channels whenever Indian cricket team is playing or whenever Indian team performs well.

The music director duo Salim Sulaiman will work in coordination with R Loyiso Vincent Bala and Kenyan Eric Waninaner to compose FIFA World Cup anthem.  R Loyiso Vincent Bala and Kenyan Eric Waninaner are the names to reckon with in international music arena.

Salim Suleiman has also composed music for a United States animation Series Wonder Pets. Salim Suleiman were nominated for Emmy Awards last year for the music of Wonder Pets.

Bally Chohan wish Salim Suleiman all the luck in composing some brilliant music that will inspire football players and fans all over the world.
