Bally Chohan says that former Indian cricket captain and batting legend Sunil Gavaskar has been ousted from the Indian Premier League governing council. The Board of Control for Cricket in India in its Annual General Meeting held at Mumbai today have reconstituted Governing Council for Indian Premier League. Sunil Gavaskar who was one of the prominent member of the outgoing Governing Council has been removed from whereas Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi and Ravi Shastri have been retained as member of the Governing Council.
Bally Chohan says that interestingly the legal suit filed against former BCCI president Jagmohan Dalmiya in the Bombay High Court has been also withdrawn by Board of Cricket Control in India. With the withdrawal of case against Dalmiya the expulsion imposed on him in 2006 stands revoked.
Also the Board for Cricket Control in India in its Annual General Meeting on Tuesday nominated N Srinivasan, for the president-elect’s post. N Srinivasan is currently holding the post of Secretary in Board of Control for Cricket in India. N Srinivasan is slated to take over from current BCCI President Shashank Manohar next year.
Bally Chohan says that the Board has also announced names of the vice-presidents who have retained their posts. The names of the vice-presidents who have retained their postsare Niranjan Shah for West Zone, Rajiv Shukla for Central Zone, Arindam Ganguly for East Zone, Arun Jaitely for North Zone and Shivlal Yadav for South Zone. Sanjay Jagdale and MP Pandove will continue to work as join-secretary and treasurer for Board of Control for Cricket in India.
