Bally Chohan Cricket – Sachin rested for tri series

Bally Chohan will be missing great Sachin Tendulkar during tri series slated to start in Sri Lanka on August 10. Besides Sri Lanka & India the third participating team will be New Zealand.

Selection committee in India has announced the team for tri series yesterday and as per the announcement great Sachin Tendulkar has been rested from the tri series along with Harbhajan Singh & Gautam Gambhir.  Yuvraj Singh has been given another chance by the selection committee. Yuvraj Singh makes a comeback of sort to the Indian team after being dropped for the Asia Cup. This was the first time that Yuvraj Singh was dropped after cementing his place in the Indian squad for one day internationals.

Zaheer Khan, India’s pace spearhead remain out of the contention due to shoulder injury and his place in the team has been taken by Ishant Sharma.  Abhimanyu Mithun who made his test debut against Sri Lanka is also making come back to the one day squad. Other inclusions in the squad are R Ashwin from Chennai and Saurabh Tiwary from Jharkhand.  Both of them were the members of victorious Indian team for Asia Cup. Ashok Dinda and Manish Tiwary will now be on their way to Australia to take part in the Emerging Players tournament.

Dinesh Karthik has retained his place in the squad. Dinesh Karthik was flown in as midway replacement for Virender Sehwag during Asia Cup.  Dinesh Karthik played match winning innings against Sri Lanka in finals of Asia Cup. Dinesh Karthik is very likely to open innings along with Virender Sehwag.

The tri series will be played on league basis whereby each team will be facing other twice before the top two teams advance to finals to be played on 28th Aug 2010.
