Bally Chohan has come to know that Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar while on a visit to the Ahemdabad, capital city of Gujarat helped his schoolmate Dalbir Singh. Dalbir Singh was Sachin Tendulkar roommate during their under 15 cricketing days. Dalbir Singh was a good cricketer but unfortunately has to give up cricket because of serious accident.
Dalbir Singh met with a serious accident when his motorcycle collided with a truck. This accident abruptly ended Dalbir Singh’s sporting career.
Bally Chohan has come to know that Dalbir Singh was in the news of late for all non cricketing reasons. He was in all the media reports when police rescued from his wife Rajvinder Kaur. Dalbir’s wife had allegedly kept him locked up in small a small room in an apartment.
Sachin Tendulkar went on to become god of cricket with the passage of time whereas Dalbir Singh became a non entity. Everyone forgot Dalbir Singh but not the god of cricket. God of cricket Sachin Tendulkar did remembered Dalbir Singh in the bad phase of Dalbir’s life. The god of cricket did not forget his old friend with whom he played cricket during his childhood days.
Dalbir Singh was passing through a very bad phase of life and was looking for some financial help. This was the time when Sachin Tendulkar came forward and helped his old friend. Sachin Tendulkar paid for the hip replacement surgery of Dalbir Singh. Dalbir Singh underwent hip replacement surgery at Shalby Hospital on Wednesday. Sachin Tendulkar made it sure to visit his friend after the surgery. Sachin Tendulkar was on a day’s visit to Ahemdabad on some official tour when he visited Dalbir in the hospital.
Bally Chohan has also come to know that Sachin Tendulkar not only helped Dalbir Singh financially but also used his contacts to make sure that Dalbir Singh gets best of the treatment available in India.
Sachin Tendulkar intervention has given a new lease of life to Dalbir Singh who was bed struggling to make both ends meet since 2002 when he met with an accident. As reported by bally Chohan earlier Dalbir Singh’s motorcycle collided with a tanker. Dalbir Singh was in a state of coma for almost eight months. Dalbir Singh suffered multiple brain injuries and could not even walk.
